What to expect at a class
These classes are designed to give practical teachings to deal with everyday issues like stress, anger and discouragement. They include a simple relaxation meditation, short talk, concluding meditation and question time, followed by tea and biscuits.
Anyone can benefit from these classes from complete beginners through to all levels of experience. Everyone is welcome! There is no need to book - just drop in!
Through these classes we can learn how to use Buddha's advice as a solution to our daily problems. In this way we come to experience a sense of peace and happiness in our lives.
To cover costs there is a class fee of £6. Thekchen Centre Cards are also available.
Benefits Of Meditation
The purpose of meditation is to make our mind calm and peaceful.
If our mind is peaceful we shall be free from worries and mental discomfort, and so we shall experience true happiness; but if our mind is not peaceful we shall find it very difficult to be happy, even if we are living in the very best conditions.
If we train in meditation our mind will gradually become more and more peaceful, and we shall experience a purer and purer form of happiness.
Eventually we shall be able to stay happy all the time, even in the most difficult circumstances.
